Berean Baptist Church is a church striving to develop fully devoted followers of Christ. We believe that it is important to invest in children with an intentional plan to lay a biblical foundation in their lives during their formative years.
BUILD Children’s Ministries at Berean seeks to accomplish this goal by building up families by supporting and equipping them to become lifelong Christ followers.
Nursery – We offer a fully-staffed nursery for children ages 0-2 during both 9:00 and 10:30 services; and Wednesday night family ministry for parents serving in ministries or attending Bible studies or classes. We also have a mothers’ room across from the nursery with the service streamed live.
Bible Instruction – We offer classes for children ages 2 through 5th grade at both 9:00 AM and 10:30 AM. Our classes offer relevant & accurate Bible teaching, games, activities, and fun as we equip children to become & make disciples. Classes are divided by age and grade, and promoted each year on the first Sunday in September. We use Regular Baptist Press Strong curriculum for early childhood and Answers in Genesis curriculum for elementary. Classes are divided by birthday and grade level.
AWANA – On Wednesday nights during the school year, children ages 3 years old through 5th grade can participate in our AWANA program. AWANA is a worldwide ministry whose mission is to reach kids, equip leaders and change the world for God. Meetings include Scripture memorization, game time, Bible learning, and fun! Our AWANA program includes Cubbies for children who are ages 3-5, Sparks for grades K-2, and T&T for grades 3-5. Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15
Music – We have an annual Christmas program in early December, that features a Christmas musical for children in K-5th grade, songs from the early childhood classes, and a nursery parade. We also offer a spring musical for children in kindergarten through fifth grade that rehearses during January and February and presents in March. Our children’s music & drama ministry gives Biblically-based opportunities for children to develop their musical, drama, and public speaking skills while also learning important truths from God’s Word.
Action Day Camp – ADC is a week-long full-day summer camp for children who have completed kindergarten through fifth grade in the previous school year, that includes Bible lessons, songs, crafts, games, a carnival day, and fun field trips. Campers spend the morning at church and most afternoons on field trips as places such as the zoo, museum, splash pad (trips change from year to year). Every effort is made to maintain a healthy and safe camping program for children, with emphasis placed on helping children to develop spiritually, mentally and physically.
Family Events – Berean offers various opportunities for families to have fun and serve, including SNACs (Sunday Night After Church), Rake & Run, trunk-or-treat, camping trips, potlucks, annual missions conferences, and many others.
Your Child’s Safety – Keeping all children safe is a top priority. We use computerized check-in & check-out through Planning Center, which prints out a name tag for the child and a security label for the parent/guardian. Parents/guardians must show the security label upon check-out for the child to be released. Our security team and medical team are both fully trained and equipped to handle any emergency situation that may arise on campus during church events. Our children’s workers are required to fill out an application, submit references, pass a background check, and comply with our Child Safety & Abuse Prevention policy.
Wellness Policy – Both children and workers are expected to follow Berean’s wellness policy in order to attend or serve in classes.
Permission Slip – All children ages kindergarten and older need to have a current permission slip filled out each year in order to participate in church activities.
