Here at Berean, we offer many music & drama opportunities for children in kindergarten through fifth grade.
We have an annual Christmas program in early December, that features a 45-minute Christmas musical for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. All children learn the songs during Sunday School and can sing in the choir. Drama rehearsals begin in September on Sunday evenings for those interested in solos & speaking parts. The Christmas program also features songs from the preschool classes, and a nursery parade.
We also offer a spring musical for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. Rehearsals begin in January on Sunday evenings and continue through the spring until the presentation in March.
Older children are occasionally given the opportunity to join our adult ensemble and present during the Sunday morning service. At times we also offer opportunities to participate in a bell choir for older children.
Middle school students are also invited to join the musicals for backstage and technical crew positions.
Our children’s music & drama ministry gives Biblically-based opportunities for children to develop their musical, drama, and public speaking skills while also learning important truths from God’s Word.
Examples of previously presented musicals include: Hans Bronson’s Gold Medal Mission, The Agape League, Back to the Manger, The Christmas County Spelling Bee, We Three Spies, Back to the Cross, The Kingdom Connection, Wrapping All the Way, Star Quest, Jingle Bell Beach, Straight Outta Bethlehem, Faith News, Back to the Beginning, Praystation.
